IBM/INSA-GEI partnerships Joint actions
As part of a partnership signed in 2006, INSA-GEI and IBM have set up the following actions:
- Conferences: bound for teachers and students, in Toulouse, Montpellier or remotely via webinars, particularly linked with Software Development Process and Service Oriented Architectures.
- Internships: IBM offers every year a large number of graduation project placements in areas of high priority.
- Academic initiative: free provision of more than 1200 IBM software for pedagogical purposes.
- Smart Cloud Enterprise: free provision of resources in fields of SOA and Cloud computing
- Annual activity balance, defining IBM conferences and project topics proposed to students during their training.

A way to employment
The IBM partnership to better publicise the internships and careers opportunities to the students. Thus, in 2014, three 5th year GEI students in Software engineering had the opportunity to do their graduation project placement at IBM. Despite the restricted plan for hiring regarding IBM France, the three students were offered a job. The convergence of good candidates and good subjects makes it possible to facilitate access to the labour market, and feeds industry-engineering school collaborations.
